Choose Your Wall Decal Material
Removable Vinyl
Removable Vinyl has a thin, smooth surface with minimal luster, allowing the design to look almost painted onto a compatible wall. The vinyl composition arrives with transfer tape to help position the complete scene. It is intended for one-time placement and should not be treated as repositionable.
Vinyl performs best on clean, smooth, securely painted walls with a compatible paint finish. Because paint formulas and wall conditions vary, test a sample on the actual installation surface before ordering the complete design.
Self-Adhesive Fabric
Self-Adhesive Fabric is a matte polyester wall material printed with GREENGUARD Gold certified inks. It is more flexible than vinyl and can be repositioned during installation when kept clean and handled carefully. Its soft matte texture makes it our preferred option for many nursery and children’s-room projects.
The fabric may accommodate very light wall texture better than thin vinyl, but no pressure-sensitive material is guaranteed to adhere properly to every textured surface. Deep orange peel, knockdown texture, sharp peaks and heavy ridges reduce adhesive contact and may remain visible through the finished decal.
Order a Sample First
We strongly recommend testing a sample before purchasing a complete wall decal. A sample lets you evaluate:
- Printed color in your room’s lighting
- Material texture and finish
- Adhesion to your actual wall paint
- Visibility of the wall texture beneath the material
- Your comfort working with the selected material
Screens display color differently and should not be used as the only reference for printed color. Order the exact material you are considering for the finished decal.
Wall Preparation
Install the decal only on a clean, dry, securely painted and nonporous interior wall. Remove dust, grease and cleaning-product residue before installation.
Wait at least six weeks after painting. Some low-VOC, zero-VOC, stain-resistant and specialty paints may require additional curing time or adhesion testing. Do not install directly over bare drywall, brick, unfinished wood, unpainted cement or damp surfaces.
Paint chemistry and wall preparation can affect adhesion and removal. Testing the selected material on the actual wall is the best way to confirm compatibility.
Before Installation
Keep the package indoors and protected from extreme heat, freezing temperatures, moisture and direct sunlight. If the package was exposed to cold or heat during transit, allow the decal and installation room to return to a stable indoor temperature before opening and installing it.
Unroll the decal carefully and review the supplied instructions before beginning. For the best adhesive performance, install the decal promptly and keep the adhesive surface free from dust, fabric fibers and skin oils.
